Based on Article 4 of Circular 09/2012/TT-BQP, the regulations on the support for the organization of funerals for active military personnel, civil servants and public employees who died or passed away are as follows

1. The agency or unit in the Military Forces that organizes the funeral for military personnel, civil servants and public employees in uniform who died or passed away (according to the delegation of authority specified in Section B, Section C, Section D, Part III, Circular No. 114/2005/ITLT-BQP-BNV dated August 1, 2005 of the Joint Ministry of National Defense - Ministry of Home Affairs), in addition to the funeral allowance under the provisions of the law on social insurance, is also supported with funding for making an altar, purchasing two wreaths, taking pictures, providing funeral services, and other incidental expenses (if any) for one case as follows:

a) A unit directly subordinate to the Ministry of National Defense that organizes the funeral: VND 7,000,000.

b) A division, provincial military command, or equivalent unit that organizes the funeral: VND 5,000,000.

c) A regiment, district military command, or equivalent unit that organizes the funeral: VND 3,000,000.

2. In case the funeral is held at home, not organized during the military holiday, then the agency or unit that organizes the funeral as specified in Points a, b, c of Clause l of this Article is responsible for providing financial support to the family according to the regulations.

In the event that the family members do not want to organize the funeral according to the military ceremonial battalion for the deceased military officer, but want to organize the funeral at home, they will still receive funeral support.

According to Clause 1, Article 4 of Circular 09/2012/TT-BQP, the regulations on the support for the organization of funerals for active military personnel, civil servants and public employees who died or passed away are as follows

What are sources of funeral support for deceased military officers in Vietnam?

Based on Article 5 of Circular 09/2012/TT-BQP, the source of funding is as follows:

1. For budgetary units: The funding for implementing the regulations stipulated in this Circular is included in the annual defense budget of the unit and is accounted for in Section 6250 "Collective Welfare" for the emergency hardship allowance; Section 7150 "Expenses for the work of revolutionary and social meritorious people" according to the corresponding sub-items, items, and industries in the system of national budget classification applied in the Military.

2. For accounting units: The funding for implementing the regulations stipulated in this Circular is included in the product cost.
