Is It Mandatory for Each Village to Have a Deputy Village Chief?
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 1 of Circular 14/2018/TT-BNV regarding the organization of villages and residential groups as follows:
Each village shall have a Village Head; each residential group shall have a Residential Group Head. In necessary cases, there shall be 01 Deputy Village Head, 01 Deputy Residential Group Head.
Therefore, according to the above regulation, each village shall have a Village Head, whereas the appointment of a Deputy Village Head will depend on the actual situation of the village in the locality and may have 1 Deputy Village Head. Consequently, this is not a mandatory provision.
