Is Additional Military Service Health Examination Permissible?

According to Article 40 of the 2015 Military Service Law, it is stipulated:

- The Chairman of the District People's Committee decides to establish the Health Examination Council at the proposal of the health department at the same level.

- The Chief of the District Military Command issues an order calling for a health examination for citizens within the conscription category; the Chief of the District Police issues an order calling for a health examination for citizens within the category required to perform the duty of joining the People's Police. The health examination summons must be delivered to citizens 15 days prior to the examination date.

- The District Health Examination Council organizes health examinations for citizens within the conscription category and those required to join the People's Police; if necessary, to decide on clinical testing, including drug and HIV testing; to ensure accuracy and take responsibility for the results of military service health examinations.

- The health examination period is from November 1 to the end of December 31 annually. The health examination period for conscripting citizens and performing the duty of joining the People's Police for the second time according to the provisions of Article 33 of this Law shall be decided by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

- The results of health classification must be publicly posted at the headquarters of the Commune People's Committee, agencies, and organizations within 20 days.

=> As stated in the above regulations, the law only stipulates the annual health examination period from the beginning of November to the end of December. There is no regulation on supplementary military service health examination. In necessary cases, due to defense and security reasons, a second recruitment health examination may be called.
