Is a 40-year-old still eligible to pursue a Master's degree in the police force?
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 5, Circular 15/2016/TT-BCA prescribing the subjects and conditions for registration for the master's degree entrance exam in the police force as follows:
- Subjects: Lecturers, teachers, education management officers in People's Public Security schools; officials with the title of specialist, assistant in advisory work, scientific research under the Ministry's agencies; team-level commanders and equivalent or higher belonging to police units and localities.
- Conditions for registration for the exam: Implement according to the current master's degree training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and ensure the following requirements:
+ Regarding qualifications: Have a bachelor's degree in the same field or suitable for the field, and specialize in master's degree training; in cases of bachelor's degrees in a related field, or a different field to the one being applied for a master's degree, follow the master's degree training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the guidance of the Ministry of Public Security.
+ Regarding work experience and age: Candidates must have at least 24 (twenty-four) months of actual work experience or more (from the date of graduation to the date of the exam); not exceeding 45 years old. For teachers and education management officers of People's Public Security schools, they must have at least 12 months of actual work experience or more (from the date of graduation to the date of the exam).
Thus, according to the regulations, individuals who are not older than 45 years old are eligible to apply for the master’s degree training in the police force. Therefore, in your case, you meet the conditions to apply for a master's degree in the police force.
