If I have a secondary school diploma, can I be exempted from the Informatics in public employee recruitment exam in Vietnam? 

Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 9 of Decree 115/2020/ND-CP stipulating the form, content and time of round 1 public employee recruitment exam as follows:

a) Exam format: Multiple choice exam on computer.

In case the exam is held on a computer, the multiple-choice exam content does not include an information technology section.

In case the agency or unit with recruitment authority does not have the conditions to organize the exam on a computer, the multiple-choice exam will be on paper.

b) The exam content includes 3 parts, exam time is as follows:

Part I: General knowledge, 60 questions about understanding the law on public employees, the Party's policies and guidelines, policies and laws on recruitment industries and fields. Exam time 60 minutes;

Part II: Foreign languages, 30 questions as required by the job position in one of five languages: English, Russian, French, German, Chinese or another foreign language chosen by the head of the agency or unit with recruitment authority use decision. Exam time 30 minutes;

Part III: Informatics, 30 questions according to job position requirements. Exam time is 30 minutes.

c) Exemption from the foreign language test in the following cases:

Have a diploma in foreign language at the same training level or at a higher training level than the professional training level required by the job position;

Have a diploma at the same training level or at a higher training level than the professional training level required by the job position applying for studying abroad or studying in a foreign language in Vietnam, recognized by competent authorities;

Have a certificate in an ethnic minority language or be an ethnic minority applying to be a public employee working in an ethnic minority area.

d) Exemption from the informatics exam for cases with intermediate or higher diplomas in majors related to informatics and information technology.

d) The results of round 1 are determined by the number of correct answers for each test section specified in Point b of this Clause. If 50% or more of the questions are answered correctly for each test section, the candidate can take the exam. continue round 2.

Thus, according to the above regulations in Vietnam, if you have a diploma from intermediate level or higher in majors related to informatics and information technology, you will be exempted from the informatics exam.

How many days will it take for round 1 public employee recruitment exam results in Vietnam?

At Point b, Clause 3, Article 9 of Decree 115/2020/ND-CP, order for organizing recruitment of public employees is prescribed as follows:

b) Organizing round 1 competition:

In case the agency or unit with recruitment authority organizes the first round exam on a computer, it must notify the candidate of the results immediately after the end of the computer test. There is no review of round 1 exam results on computers.

In case the agency or unit with recruitment authority organizes round 1 exam on paper, the exam marking will be carried out as follows:

No later than 15 days from the end of round 1, the marking of round 1 must be completed;

No later than 05 working days from the end of the first round of examination, the exam results must be announced for candidates to know and notify the receipt of re-examination applications within 15 days from the date of announcement of the above exam results. Electronic information page or electronic information portal of the agency or unit with recruitment authority;

In case there is a re-examination application, no later than 15 days from the deadline for receiving the re-examination application, the re-evaluation must be completed and the re-evaluation results announced for candidates to know;

Based on practical conditions during the exam marking process, the Chairman of the Recruitment Council decides to extend the time limit for performing the tasks specified in this point but the total time must not exceed 15 days.

According to this Article, no later than 15 days from the date of completing round 1 public employee exam, the exam must be marked. No later than 05 days from the date of completion of grading, the grading results must be announced.
