If classified as health category 4, do I need to undergo a medical examination for military service the following year?
According to Point a, Clause 1, Article 41 of the 2015 Law on Military Service, cases of insufficient health to serve on active duty, as concluded by the Health Examination Council, will be temporarily exempted from conscription.
Clause 3 of this Article stipulates: Citizens eligible for temporary exemption from conscription, if the reason for exemption no longer exists, will be called for conscription.
Additionally, Article 30 of the 2015 Law on Military Service specifies the conscription age as follows:
Citizens who reach the age of 18 are eligible for conscription; the conscription age ranges from the full age of 18 to the end of 25 years old. Citizens who are trained at the college or university level and received a temporary exemption from conscription will be subject to conscription until the age of 27.
In 2019, if your child was classified as having health category 4, they would be temporarily exempted from military service for 2019. In 2020, your child would still be within the conscription age (22 years old) and would still be required to undergo a military service health examination per the regulations.
Respectfully!
