Based on Article 30 of the Law on Military Service 2015, the age for conscription is stipulated as follows:
Citizens who are 18 years old can be called up for military service; the conscription age is from 18 years old to the end of 25 years old; citizens who have received training at college or university level and have had their conscription postponed can be called up until the end of 27 years old.
Thus, according to the above regulations, the age at which you no longer have to participate in military service is 25 years old. For citizens who have received training at college or university level and had their conscription postponed, it is 27 years old.
What cases are exempt from military service?
According to Clause 2 of Article 41 of the Law on Military Service 2015, the cases exempt from military service are stipulated as follows:
a) Children of martyrs, children of first-class war invalids;
b) One sibling of a martyr;
c) One child of a second-class war invalid; one child of a patient whose labor capacity is reduced by 81% or more; one child of a person affected by Agent Orange with a labor capacity reduction of 81% or more;
d) Persons working in cryptography who are not military personnel or People's Public Security;
dd) Officials and public employees, and young volunteers who are mobilized to work in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions as prescribed by law for 24 months or more.
Individuals who fall into the above categories will be exempt from military service.
