Based on Clause 2, Article 20 of Decree 138/2020/ND-CP, the probation period for civil servants is stipulated as follows:
a) 12 months for recruits into Class C civil servants;
b) 06 months for recruits into Class D civil servants;
c) The period of maternity leave as per social insurance benefits, sick leave of 14 days or more, unpaid leave, detention or custody time, and temporary suspension from work per legal provisions are not counted in the probation period.
In case the probationary civil servant has sick leave or justified reasons under 14 days, with the approval of the head of the agency or unit where the probationary policies are being implemented, this period will be counted into the probation period.
Thus, as per the above regulations, since you are a Class C civil servant, your probation period will be 12 months.
What does the probation content for civil servants include?
Based on Clause 3 of this Article, the probation content for civil servants includes:
a) Mastering legal regulations concerning civil servants; understanding the organizational structure, functions, tasks, and powers of the working agency; internal rules and working regulations of the agency, and the duties and responsibilities of the employed position;
b) Enhancing knowledge and professional skills required by the employed position;
c) Practicing resolving and executing the tasks of the employed position.
