Pursuant to Article 17 of the Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA stipulating the validity of the residence information verification form as follows:

2. Residence information that may be verified includes residence registration time, location and type. Residence information verification shall be valid for 06 months starting from the date on which the verification is made for the cases mentioned in Clause 1 Article 19 of the Residence Law if residence declaration is verified and valid for 30 days starting from the date on which the verification is made if residence information is verified. In case residence information of a citizen has changed and the change is updated to the residence database, residence information verification shall become invalid from the time of such change.
At Clause 9, Article 1 of Decree 66/2023/TT-BCA, the validity of the residence information verification form has been amended as follows:

9. Article 17 is amended as follows:
Article 17. Verification of residence information
1. Citizens may request the registration authority in Vietnam to verify the information about their residence, regardless of their place of residence, in person at the office of the registration authority or through the public service portal, the VNeID application, or other online public services as prescribed by law.
2. The content of the verification of residence information includes information about the current place of residence, previous places of residence, the time of residence at each place of residence, the form of residence registration, and other information about residence that is in the Residence Database and the National Population Database. The verification of residence information is valid for 01 year from the date of issue. In case the information about the residence of a citizen is changed, adjusted, and updated in the Residence Database, the confirmation of residence information will expire from the time of change, adjustment.

Pursuant to Clause 1 Article 17 of the Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA (amended by Clause 9 Article 1 of the Circular 66/2023/TT-BCA) stipulating residence information verification as follows:

Therefore, citizens can apply for a residence information verification form at the following places:
- At the headquarters of the registration authority;
- The public service portal;
- The VNeID application;
- Other online public services.
What is the maximum period of stay in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Clause 4 Article 15 of the Circular 55/2021/TT-BCA (amended by Clause 8 Article 1 of the Circular 66/2023/TT-BCA) stipulating reporting of stay as follows:

3. When someone comes to stay, the head of a household, a medical examination and treatment facility, a tourist accommodation facility, an accommodation facility in an industrial park, or other facility with accommodation functions must report the stay of the person staying according to one of the forms specified in Clause 1 of this Article and the following regulations:
a) The head of the household or a member of the household, the representative of the accommodation facility in an industrial park, the tourist accommodation facility, requests the person coming to stay to present one of the legal documents showing information about the individual identification number in accordance with the law and carry out the reporting of stay with the registration authority for residence;
b) The representative of the medical examination and treatment facility is responsible for compiling a list of people coming to inpatient treatment and carrying out the reporting of stay with the registration authority for residence where the headquarters of the medical examination and treatment facility is located.
4. The length of stay depends on the needs of the citizen but not more than 30 days. The person receiving the reporting of stay must update the content of the reporting of stay to the Residence Database.
Therefore, the maximum period of stay is no more than 30 days.
Note: Circular 66/2023/TT-BCA is effective from January 1, 2024.
