How is the use of sporting weapons regulated?
Sport weapons are weapons manufactured, handcrafted, or industrially produced, used for training and sports competition, which include:
- Air rifles, exploding bullet rifles, air pistols, exploding bullet pistols, paintball sports guns, clay pigeon shooting guns, and ammunition used for these guns;
- Primitive weapons are weapons with a simple structure and operating principle, produced either handcrafted or industrially, which include: daggers, swords, spears, halberds, pikes, bayonets, sabers, machetes, staffs, brass knuckles, maces, bows, crossbows, darts.
The use of sport weapons is stipulated in Article 27 of the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives, and Supporting Tools 2017, with the following content:
- Sport weapons are used for training and sports competition at shooting ranges or organized locations, with surveillance and safety measures ensured; complying with training curricula, sports competition laws, and tournament regulations.
- Furthermore, sport weapons must be safety-checked before, during, and after training and sports competition.
- Sport weapons are assigned to athletes, coaches, trainees, or members who are eligible to be equipped with sport weapons for training and sports competition at training and competition venues.
