How Are Platoon Leaders of Reserve Units Compensated?
Article 40 of Decree 26/2002/ND-CP stipulates:
Reserve officers who hold the command position of a reserve unit on a quarterly basis are eligible for a responsibility allowance for unit management as prescribed in Article 25 of the Ordinance on Reserve Forces dated August 27, 1996.
Referring to Article 25 of the 1996 Ordinance on Reserve Forces, reserve servicemen holding command positions of a reserve unit organized from a squad or equivalent upwards, on a quarterly basis, are eligible for a responsibility allowance based on the minimum salary coefficient as follows:
- Squad Leader: 0.25;
- Platoon Leader: 0.30;
- Deputy Company Commander: 0.35;
- Company Commander: 0.40;
- Deputy Battalion Commander: 0.45;
- Battalion Commander: 0.50;
- Deputy Regiment Commander: 0.55;
- Regiment Commander: 0.60.
Thus, in your case as a Squad Leader of a reserve unit, you will receive a quarterly responsibility allowance equal to 0.25 of the regional minimum wage.
