[1] Heads of operations under the Department of Internal Political Security include:

- Head of Internal Security Department of Central Party and State agencies;

- Head of Security Department of judicial agencies, law enforcement agencies, and central socio-political organizations;

- Head of Press and Publishing Security Department;

- Head of Health and Education Security Department; Head of Department of Cultural Security, Sports and Social Labor;

- Head of Postal Security, Telecommunications and Information Technology Department;

- Head of State Management Department for protecting State secrets.

[2] Head of the professional department of the Police Department for administrative management of social order includes:

- Head of the Department of Guidance and Management of weapons, explosives, support tools and artillery;

- Head of the Department of Guidance and management of investment and business sectors with conditions on security, order and seals;

- Director of the National Population Data Center.

[3] Heads of professional departments under the Traffic Police Department include:

- Head of the Department of Guidance on propaganda, investigation and resolution of traffic accidents;

According to Article 20 of the 2018 People's Public Security Law, regulations on classification and placement of officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the People's Police are as follows:

1. Based on the nature of their duties, they shall be classified into the followings:

a) Operation officers and non-commissioned officers;

b) Technical officers and non-commissioned officers;

c) Non-commissioned officers and conscripts.

2. The Minister of Public Security shall elaborate on the classification and placement of officers, non-commissioned officers and conscripts of the People’s Public Security Force based on the nature of their duties.
