Chairman of the State, Prime Minister Both Elected by the National Assembly?

Based on Clauses 2, 4 Article 8 of the 2014 Law on the Organization of the National Assembly regulating the election of positions within the state apparatus:

- The National Assembly elects the President from among the National Assembly deputies at the proposal of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. The National Assembly elects the Vice President from among the National Assembly deputies at the proposal of the President.

- ...

- The National Assembly elects the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam from among the National Assembly deputies at the proposal of the President.

Thus, in accordance with the aforementioned legal provisions, both the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam and the President are elected by the National Assembly according to the law on the organization of the National Assembly.
