Are people studying for a master's degree eligible for deferment of military service in Vietnam?

Are people studying for a master's degree eligible for deferment of military service in Vietnam? Is there a penalty for not attending a military health examination in Vietnam? Is there a prison sentence for avoiding military service in Vietnam?

Hello Lawnet. I have just graduated from university. Currently, I am participating in a master's degree program. Yesterday,  I received a conscription health examination summon. Am I eligible for deferment of military service for studying for a master's degree? Will I be fined if I do not attend the military health examination?

Thank you!

As you are participating in a master's degree program, you still have to join the health examination for military service as prescribed per law.
