Individuals Who Have Completed Military Service are Given Priority in Official Recruitment
Based on Article 5 of Decree 138/2020/ND-CP stipulating priority in official recruitment as follows:
- Subjects and points of priority in recruitment exams or evaluations:
a) Heroes of the Armed Forces, Heroes of Labor, War Invalids, individuals receiving policies equivalent to War Invalids, Class B War Invalids: An additional 7.5 points to the result of round 2;
b) Ethnic minorities, military officers, police officers, professional soldiers returning to civilian life, individuals transitioning from cryptographic work to other fields, graduates of reserve officer training courses, graduates of training courses for commune-level military command chiefs, individuals with reserve officer ranks registered in the reserve officer list, children of martyrs, children of War Invalids, children of sick soldiers, children of individuals receiving policies equivalent to War Invalids, children of Class B War Invalids, biological children of individuals who participated in the resistance and were affected by chemical toxins, children of Heroes of the Armed Forces, children of Heroes of Labor: An additional 5 points to the result of round 2;
c) Individuals who have completed military service, public security service, or youth volunteer service: An additional 2.5 points to the result of round 2.
- If a candidate in the recruitment exam or evaluation falls under multiple priority categories as stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article, only the highest priority points will be added to the result of round 2.
Therefore, according to the current regulations, individuals who have completed military service will receive an additional 2.5 points to their result in the second round of the official recruitment exam.
Conditions for Registering to Apply for Official Recruitment
Article 4 of Decree 138/2020/ND-CP stipulates the conditions for registering to apply for official recruitment as follows:
The conditions for registering to apply for official recruitment are in accordance with Clause 1, Article 36 of the Law on Cadres and Officials. The agency using officials will determine additional conditions based on the requirements of the position as stipulated in point g, clause 1, Article 36 of the Law on Cadres and Officials, suited to the competency framework for the job position but not lower than the general standards, not contrary to the provisions of the law, and shall not discriminate against the type of training. They must report in writing for the managing agency of officials to consider and decide.
Clause 1 of Article 36 of the Law on Cadres and Officials 2008 stipulates the conditions for registering to apply for official recruitment as follows:
- Individuals who meet the following conditions, regardless of ethnicity, gender, social composition, beliefs, or religion, are eligible to register to apply for official recruitment:
a) Holding Vietnamese nationality;
b) Being at least 18 years old;
c) Submitting an application form; having a clear background;
d) Holding suitable diplomas and certificates;
e) Possessing good political and ethical qualities;
f) Having sufficient health to perform duties;
g) Meeting other conditions as required by the position being applied for.
