On October 3, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh issued Decree No. 41 bringing the Astronomical Office and Phu Lien Observatory under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, renamed as the Meteorological Office, marking the historical event of bringing meteorological agencies under the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, giving birth to the Vietnam Hydrometeorology Sector.
Under the leadership and direction of the Communist Party and the State, the Hydrometeorology sector has continuously grown and developed, ensuring the implementation of meteorological and hydrological observation and forecasting to serve the direction of natural disaster prevention, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development, national defense - security, and the protection of the well-being of citizens.

According to Article 20 of Land Law 2024, the 18 contents of state land management are as follows:
- Promulgating and implementing legal documents on land management and use.
- Propaganda, dissemination, education, training, scientific research, technology development, and international cooperation on land management and use.
- Defining administrative boundaries, preparing and managing administrative boundary records.
- Surveying, rectifying, mapping cadastral maps, land use status maps, land use planning maps, and specialized maps on land management and use.
- Investigating, evaluating, protecting, improving, and rehabilitating land.
- Preparing, adjusting, and managing land use planning and plans.
- Allocating land, leasing land, recovering land, recognizing land use rights, requisitioning land, changing land use purposes.
- Investigating, preparing land price tables, specific land prices, managing land prices.
- Managing finances over land.
- Compensation, support, resettlement when the State recovers land, requisitions land.
- Developing, managing, and exploiting land funds.
- Registering land, preparing, and managing cadastral records; issuing, correcting, revoking, and canceling land use right certificates.
