In what scope is land statistics and inventory conducted?
Based on Article 57 of the Land Law 2024 regulating the scope and subjects of land statistics and inventory:
Article 57. Scope and subjects of land statistics and inventory
- Land statistics and inventory are conducted within the administrative units at the commune, district, provincial levels, and the entire country.
- The time for conducting land statistics and inventory is as follows:
a) Land statistics are conducted annually until December 31 of the statistical year, excluding the year of land inventory;
b) Land inventory is conducted every 05 years until December 31 of the year ending with the digit 4 or 9.
- Thematic land inventory is conducted at the request of state land management for each period as decided by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, or the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the above regulation, land statistics and inventory are conducted within the administrative units at the commune, district, provincial levels, and the entire country.

How are land statistics and inventory activities conducted?
Based on Article 58 of the Land Law 2024 regulating the criteria, content, and activities of land statistics and inventory:
Article 58. Criteria, content, and activities of land statistics and inventory
- The criteria for land statistics and inventory for the types of land stipulated in Article 9 of this Law include:
a) Area;
b) Land users;
c) Subjects managing land.
- The basis for determining the criteria for land statistics and inventory includes:
a) Land statistics criteria are determined according to cadastral records at the time of the statistics;
b) Land inventory criteria are determined according to cadastral records and the current land use at the time of inventory.
- The content of land statistics and inventory by administrative units at the commune, district, provincial levels, and the entire country includes: determining the total area of different types of land, the structure of the area for each type of land, land users, subjects managing land; the area of land allocated, leased, or converted for different land use purposes.
- Land statistics activities are conducted as follows:
a) Collecting records, documents, maps, and related data on land changes during the statistical period; land inventory data of the previous period or land statistical data of the previous year;
b) Reviewing, updating, and adjusting land changes during the statistical year;
c) Processing, summarizing data, and creating land statistical tables by administrative levels;
d) Analyzing, evaluating the current land use state and land changes during the statistical period, and proposing solutions to enhance management and improve land use efficiency;
e) Compiling land statistical reports.

- Preparing current land use maps; compiling explanatory reports on current land use maps.
- Compiling land inventory result reports.
Can citizens access the results of land statistics and inventory?
Based on Article 24 of the Land Law 2024 regulating the right to access land information:
Article 24. Right to access land information
- Citizens have the right to access the following land information:
a) Land use planning and plans, related land use plans that have been decided and approved by the competent state authorities;
b) Results of land statistics and inventory;
c) Land allocation, land lease;
d) Announced land prices;
e) Compensation, support, and resettlement plans approved by competent authorities when the state recovers land;
f) Results of land inspection, examination, dispute resolution; results of land complaint and denunciation resolution, results of handling violations of land laws;
g) Administrative procedures on land;
h) Legal documents on land;
i) Other land information as prescribed by law.
- Access to land information is conducted according to the provisions of this Law, the Law on Access to Information, and other relevant legal regulations.
According to the above regulations, the results of land statistics and inventory are among the land information that citizens have the right to access. Therefore, citizens can access the results of land statistics and inventory.
