Working How Many Days in a Month is Required for Social Insurance Contribution?
According to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 85 of the Social Insurance Law 2014:
Employees who do not work and do not receive a salary for 14 or more working days in a month shall not pay social insurance for that month. This period is not counted towards social insurance benefits, except for maternity leave.
=> Therefore, according to the above regulations, if employees have 14 or more days of leave in a month, they will not contribute to social insurance for that month.
Referring to your case. If your working policy includes Sunday as a leave day, and you start your leave on April 20, and you do not have any other leaves in that month, you will have worked for 17 days (because from April 1 to April 20 there are 2 weekly leave days and one public holiday on March 10) -> Because you have 17 working days, you will be eligible for social insurance contributions. If your leave policy includes both Saturday and Sunday, you will have 15 days (because from April 1 to April 20 there are 4 weekly leave days and 1 public holiday), so you will still be eligible for social insurance contributions. Thus, in your case, if in April, up to April 20, you go to work fully without any leaves, your company will still contribute to social insurance for you.
You can refer to the following case: Does the company allow unpaid leave due to the covid-19 pandemic, are they still eligible for social insurance?
