On September 16, 2024, Vietnam Social Security issued Decision 1624/QD-BHXH in 2024 on the Regulation of Activities for the Zalo Account of Vietnam Social Security.

Article 4 of the Regulation of Activities for the Zalo Account of Vietnam Social Security, issued in conjunction with Decision 1624/QD-BHXH in 2024, stipulates the name, address, profile picture, and cover photo of the Zalo account for Vietnam Social Security as follows:

- The Zalo account for Vietnam Social Security on the Zalo social network is named: "Vietnam Social Security".

- The Internet address for the Zalo account for Vietnam Social Security is: https://zalo.me/bhxhvietnam

- The profile picture for the Zalo account for Vietnam Social Security is the logo of Vietnam Social Security.

- Cover photo: Based on the actual situation and communication content at different times, the Administration Board of the Zalo account for Vietnam Social Security will select representative images of Vietnam Social Security as the cover photo.

What are the Objectives of Vietnam Social Security's Zalo?

Based on Article 5 of the Regulation of Activities for the Zalo Account of Vietnam Social Security, issued in conjunction with Decision 1624/QD-BHXH in 2024, the objectives of the Vietnam Social Security's Zalo are stipulated as follows:

Article 5. Objectives of the Vietnam Social Security's Zalo

  1. To communicate and disseminate the Communist Party's directives and policies, the State’s laws on Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, and the activities of implementing these policies of the Vietnam Social Security sector.

  2. To aggregate and analyze social opinions on the quality of administrative procedures, the performance of officials and public employees, and workers in the Vietnam Social Security sector, thereby advising the sector's leadership on solutions to enhance service quality, build a modern and professional Vietnam Social Security sector, aimed at satisfying organizations and individuals.

Thus, the objectives of the Zalo account for Vietnam Social Security are as follows:

- To communicate and disseminate the Communist Party's directives and policies, the State’s laws on Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance, and the activities of implementing these policies of the Vietnam Social Security sector.

- To aggregate and analyze social opinions on the quality of administrative procedures, the performance of officials and public employees, and workers in the Vietnam Social Security sector, thereby advising the sector's leadership on solutions to enhance service quality, build a modern and professional Vietnam Social Security sector, aimed at satisfying organizations and individuals.

- Zalo Vietnam Social Security is a forum for Q&A on policies and laws regarding Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance on the Zalo social network; increasing interaction and encouraging the participation of organizations and individuals in the advisory process, improving policies and laws on Social Insurance, Health Insurance, Unemployment Insurance.

What are the social insurance principles in Vietnam?

Based on Article 5 of the Social Insurance Law 2014 on the social insurance principles in Vietnam:

- The level of social insurance benefits is calculated based on the contribution level and the duration of social insurance participation, with sharing among participants.

- The mandatory social insurance contribution is calculated based on the monthly salary of the employee. The voluntary social insurance contribution is calculated based on the monthly income selected by the employee.

- Employees with both mandatory and voluntary social insurance contributions are entitled to pension and survivorship benefits based on the duration of social insurance contributions. The contribution time already calculated for one-time social insurance benefits will not be included in the calculation for other social insurance benefits.

- The Social Insurance Fund is managed centrally, uniformly, transparently, and publicly; used for the right purposes and accounted for independently according to component funds and by groups of beneficiaries implementing wage policies as stipulated by the State and wage policies decided by employers.

- The implementation of social insurance must be simple, convenient, and ensure the prompt and full realization of social insurance benefits for participants.

Note: Social Insurance Law 2014 is effective until June 30, 2025.
