Twins: Is Early Return to Work Allowed Before the End of Maternity Leave?
According to Clause 1, Article 40 of the Social Insurance Law 2014, a female worker can return to work before the end of the maternity leave period when the following conditions are met:
- After having taken at least 04 months of leave under the policies;
- Must notify in advance and obtain the consent of the employer.

Clause 4, Article 139 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulates as follows:
Before the end of the maternity leave period stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article, a female worker can return to work after having taken at least 04 months of leave but must notify the employer in advance, obtain the employer's consent, and have a confirmation from a competent medical facility that returning to work early will not harm the worker's health. In this case, in addition to the salary for the working days paid by the employer, the female worker will continue to receive maternity benefits as stipulated by the law on social insurance.
According to this regulation, if you wish to return to work early, you must have confirmation from a competent medical facility that returning to work early will not harm your health.
