Monthly Survivor Benefit Rates for 2021

Section 1, Article 68 of the 2014 Social Insurance Law stipulates the monthly survivor allowance as follows:

The monthly survivor allowance for each relative is 50% of the statutory pay rate; in the case where the relative has no direct caregiver, the monthly survivor allowance is 70% of the statutory pay rate.

Currently (June 2021), the statutory pay rate as per Decree 38/2019/ND-CP is VND 1,490,000.

The specific monthly survivor allowances are as follows:

50% x 1,490,000 = VND 745,000 for relatives in normal circumstances.

70% x 1,490,000 = VND 1,043,000 for relatives without a direct caregiver.

Note: In cases where there are two or more deceased individuals, the relatives of these individuals are entitled to the above-mentioned allowance twice.
