Maximum Health Insurance Contribution for Foreign Workers?
Section 1 Article 17 of Decision 595/QD-BHXH of 2017 stipulates: Employees working under indefinite-term labor contracts, labor contracts with a duration of 3 months or more, enterprise managers, management executives of cooperatives receiving salaries, and those working in agencies, units, organizations, etc., must all participate in health insurance (BHYT).
And according to Article 18 of this Decision:
The total monthly BHYT contribution of an employee is 4.5% of the monthly salary. Of this, the employer contributes 3%; the employee contributes 1.5%. The monthly salary for BHYT contributions is the monthly salary for compulsory social insurance contributions.
If the monthly salary for compulsory social insurance contributions exceeds 20 months of the statutory pay rate, the monthly salary for compulsory social insurance contributions is capped at 20 months of the statutory pay rate (According to Section 3 Article 6 of Decision 595).
Thus, the monthly salary for compulsory social insurance contributions from January 1, 2020, to June 30, 2020, is 29,800,000 VND. The maximum BHYT contribution of an employee is 447,000 VND per month.
Sincerely!
