Is a former soldier with a Health Insurance Card required to pay for Health Insurance at the company?
Clause 2, Article 13 of the Health Insurance Law 2008 stipulates as follows:
In the case where a person simultaneously falls under multiple categories of health insurance participants as prescribed in Article 12 of this Law, the health insurance premium shall be paid according to the first category in which that person is classified according to the order of priority prescribed in Article 12 of this Law.
Referring to Article 12 of the Health Insurance Law 2008 (amended by Clause 6, Article 1 of the Amended Health Insurance Law 2014) which regulates the categories of health insurance participants as follows:
Group with participation funded by employees and employers;
Group with participation funded by the social insurance organization, including:
Group with participation funded by the state budget, including:
...
d) People who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution, veterans;
...
Based on the information you provided: you are both a veteran and an employee working in a company, hence you will pay health insurance premiums according to the category funded by Employees and Employers.
Therefore, you are still required to pay health insurance premiums when working at the company.
Best regards!
