In 2026, at what age are male workers eligible for retirement benefits?
Based on the provisions in Clause 1, Article 4, Decree 135/2020/ND-CP (effective from January 1, 2021):
From January 1, 2021, the retirement age for workers under normal working conditions is 60 years and 03 months for male workers and 55 years and 04 months for female workers; thereafter, annually increasing by 03 months for male workers until reaching 62 years in 2028, and annually increasing by 04 months for female workers until reaching 60 years in 2035.
Simultaneously, Clause 2 of this Article also determines the roadmap for adjusting the retirement age; specifically, for male workers retiring in 2026, the age will be 61 years and 6 months.
Thus, in the case of male workers under normal working conditions, in 2026, they must be 61 years and 6 months old to be eligible for retirement.
Note: Besides the age condition, workers must also meet the required number of years of social insurance contributions as stipulated by the Social Insurance Law to be eligible for a pension.
Best regards!
