Do students who have purchased Bao Viet Insurance still need to purchase school health insurance?
According to Clause 7, Article 1 of the amended 2014 Health Insurance Law, there are provisions regarding health insurance premium levels and the responsibility to pay health insurance. As follows:
Article 13. Health insurance premium levels and responsibility to pay health insurance.
In cases where one person simultaneously belongs to several different groups of participants in health insurance as specified in Article 12 of this Law, they shall pay health insurance according to the first group to which they are identified in the order of the groups specified in Article 12 of this Law.
And in Article 12 of the 2008 Health Insurance Law (amended by Clause 6 Article 1 of the amended 2014 Health Insurance Law), it is stipulated that the participants in health insurance include:
Group with premiums paid by employees and employers;
Group with premiums paid by social insurance organizations;
Group with premiums paid by the state budget;
Group with premium contributions supported by the state budget;
- Persons from near-poor households;
- Pupils, students.
=> Therefore, your child's participation in the Bao Viet insurance package is a service insurance package provided by the enterprise and does not fall under the health insurance regulated by the Health Insurance Law. Hence, even if your child participates in that insurance package, they still have to participate in school health insurance.
