Cases in Which Health Insurance Cards Can Be Changed
Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 19 of the Law on Health Insurance 2008, a health insurance card shall be replaced in the following cases:
- Torn, damaged, or corrupted;
- Change of initial medical examination and treatment registration place;
- Incorrect information recorded on the card.
The application for card replacement is also stipulated in this Article as follows:
- Application for card replacement submitted by the health insurance participant;
- The health insurance card.
Within 7 working days from the date of receipt of the complete dossier as required, the health insurance organization must replace the card for the health insurance participant. During the card replacement process, cardholders will still be entitled to the benefits of health insurance participants.
In addition, individuals seeking the replacement of their health insurance card due to torn, damaged, or corrupted cards must pay a fee. The Minister of Finance prescribes the fee level for replacing health insurance cards.
