Are Children of Police Officers Eligible for Free Health Insurance Cards?
In Clause 13, Article 3 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP detailing the Law on Health Insurance, the following provisions regarding the group whose premiums are paid by the state budget are included:
Relatives of officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, active-duty soldiers in the armed forces, officers, non-commissioned officers in professional and technical positions within the People's Public Security forces, cadets of the People's Public Security, non-commissioned officers, persons engaged in the cipher work receiving salary comparable to military personnel, and cadets receiving policies and benefits equivalent to students in military and public security schools, including:
Biological children, legally adopted children aged over 6 years to under 18 years; biological children, legally adopted children aged 18 years or older if they are still studying in high school.
=> Therefore, if one's father is an officer or non-commissioned officer in a professional or technical position within the People's Public Security forces, the state budget will cover their health insurance premiums for free. However, this only applies to children aged over 6 years to under 18 years or those aged 18 years or older still attending high school. Those attending university are not entitled to state-covered health insurance premiums.
