Are Car Garages Required to Purchase Mandatory Fire and Explosion Insurance?
Based on Clause 1 Article 2 and Clause 1 Article 3 of Decree 23/2018/ND-CP, agencies, organizations, and individuals with establishments at risk of fire and explosion as stipulated in Appendix II issued along with Decree 79/2014/ND-CP must purchase mandatory fire and explosion insurance from insurers engaging in fire and explosion insurance business as per legal provisions.
Clause 8 of Appendix II issued along with Decree 79/2014/ND-CP provides the list of establishments at risk of fire and explosion, including:
Airport ports, sea ports, inland waterway ports, provincial-level bus stations or higher; parking lots with 200 cars or more; car garages with a capacity of 05 seats or more; Grade I, II, and III railway passenger stations; Grade I and II railway freight stations.
Thus, according to the aforementioned regulations, car garages with a capacity of 05 seats or more must purchase mandatory fire and explosion insurance. Therefore, in your case, a 10-seat car garage must purchase mandatory fire and explosion insurance.
Sincerely!
