4 cases to change the applicant for registration of domain name ".vn" in Vietnam

On December 8, 2021, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam promulgated Circular 21/2021/TT-BTTTT Amendments to certain Article of Circular 24/2015/TT-BTTTT stipulateing the management and use of internet resources

According to the Circular, amendments to Clause 6, Article 10 of Circular 24/2015 on changing the applicant for registration of domain name ".vn" are as follows:

In Vietnam, changing the applicant for registration of domain name is applied in the following cases:

- The name of the organization changed according to the decision of the competent authority;

- Acquisition, consolidation, or change of functions and tasks of agencies or organizations according to decisions of competent authorities, which lead to a change in applicants for registration of domain names;

- Reorganization of enterprises according to the regulations of the Law on Enterprises, or activities of buying and selling enterprises, contributing capital or shares between enterprises, or changing functions and tasks between the parent company and subsidiaries, leading to the change in applicant for registration of domain name; (Italics are additional content)

- The individual changes his or her full name according to a decision of competent authorities.

Circular 21/2021/TT-BTTTT takes effect from February 7, 2022 and replaces Circular 06/2019/TT-BTTTT.
