What are regulations on organizing extra classes of Literature subject for grade 6 in school in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 5 of the Regulations on Extra Classes, issued with Circular 17/2012/TT-BGDDT, the organization of extra literature classes for grade 6 in schools is as follows:
- Students wishing to take extra classes must write an application form and submit it to the school; the student's parents or guardians (hereafter referred to as parents) must directly sign and commit to the school about additional teaching responsibilities in the application and be accountable for fulfilling the commitment.
- The school principal receives the application for extra classes from students, organizes them into groups according to academic abilities, assigns teachers responsible for each subject, and organizes extra classes based on the students' academic performance groups.
- Teachers who wish to conduct extra classes must submit a registration form; the form must include a commitment to the school to complete all teaching duties as per general regulations and other tasks assigned by the school, while strictly adhering to regulations regarding extra classes in school.
- The school principal reviews and approves the list of teachers for extra classes, assigns teachers to extra classes, and arranges the supplementary class schedule suitable for the students' academic abilities.
What are principles for extra classes in schools in Vietnam?
According to Article 3 of the Regulations on Extra Classes, issued with Circular 17/2012/TT-BGDDT, extra classes in schools must adhere to the following principles:
- Supplementary teaching and learning activities must contribute to consolidating, enhancing knowledge and skills, and educating the personality of students; they must be suitable for the psychological characteristics and should not exceed the learning capacity of students.
- Do not cut content from the official primary education program to include it in extra classes; do not teach extra classes before the content is covered in the official primary education program.
- Students who take extra classes must have a desire for additional learning, volunteer for it, and have family approval; no form of coercion should be used to force families or students into extra classes.
- Do not organize extra classes according to the official school class structure; students in the same extra class must have similar academic abilities; the student's academic abilities should be the basis for placing them into extra classes.
- Organizations or individuals organizing extra teaching activities must be responsible for the contents registered and for obtaining permission to organize extra teaching activities.
