- Know how to write in steps: determine the purpose and content of writing (what to write, about what); observe and find materials to write; formulate main ideas, outline the essay; write paragraphs, essays; revise (structure, word use, sentence construction, spelling).
- Write paragraphs and essays clearly and coherently that highlight the main topic and information; appropriate to the requirements of type and style; structured with an introduction, development, conclusion; link sentences and paragraphs together.
Writing practice
- Write an essay recounting a story that has been read or heard, with creative details.
- Write an essay describing a person or scenery, using comparisons, personifications, and descriptive words to highlight the characteristics of the object described.
- Write a paragraph expressing personal feelings and emotions about an event or a poem, story.
- Write a paragraph stating reasons for agreeing or disagreeing with a significant event or phenomenon in life.
