Under Article 6 of the Charter of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam issued together with Decision 61/2004/QD-BNV. the criteria for a member of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam are as follows:

Criteria for a member

All individuals who have previously been educators, officials, workers, or staff in schools, educational and training institutions and agencies endorsing the Charter of the Association, and voluntarily write an application to join the Association, can become members of the Association.

Thus, the criteria for a member of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam are as follows:

- Have previously been educators, officials, workers, or staff in schools, educational and training institutions and agencies endorsing the Charter of the Association,

- Voluntarily write an application to join the Association.

What are the rights and obligations of members of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam?

Under Article 8 of the Charter of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam issued together with Decision 61/2004/QD-BNV, members of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam have the following rights:

- Exercise democratic and equal rights when discussing the Association's matters; running for, nominating for, and electing to the leadership bodies of the Association; criticizing, questioning the leadership bodies or leaders of the Association; proposing to dismiss officials of the Association who commit violations.

- Request the Association to intervene to protect dignity and legitimate, lawful interests when violated. Receive visits and assistance from the Association during hardships in life.

- Participate in cultural, sports, tourism, and recreational activities organized by the Association.

- Withdraw from the Association.

In addition, under Article 9 of the Charter of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam issued together with Decision 61/2004/QD-BNV, members of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam have the following obligations:

- Comply with the Charter of the Association. Implement resolutions of the Association. Exemplarily comply with state laws.

- Participate in activities and operations of the Association, effectively carry out tasks assigned by the Association.

- Pay membership fees; promote new member development; build a strong organization for the Association.

Who are the associate and honorary members of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam?

Under Article 10 of the Charter of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam issued together with Decision 61/2004/QD-BNV, associate and honorary members of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam include:

- Schools, educational, and training centers affiliated with Vietnam and abroad or with one hundred percent (100%) foreign investment allowed to operate in Vietnam, contributing to the development of the Association, endorsing the Charter of the Association can be considered and recognized by the Association as associate members.

- Vietnamese citizens and organizations that do not have the conditions to become regular members of the Association can be recognized by the Association as honorary members.

- Associate and honorary members may participate in activities and attend the Congress of the Association but cannot participate in elections or stand for election to the Executive Committee of the Association, nor vote on the Association's matters.

What are the procedures for admitting members to the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam?

Article 7 of the Charter of the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam issued together with Decision 61/2004/QD-BNV, stipulates the procedure for admitting collective and individual members as follows:

Procedure for admitting collective and individual members.

Collective and individual members wishing to join the Association must voluntarily submit an application. The grassroots-level Executive Committee considers the application and issues membership cards. Collective members must have a document authorizing the representative according to the provisions of the law. When a member wishes to leave the Association, they must write an application themselves, which must be approved by the grassroots-level Executive Committee, and return their membership card.

Thus, the procedures for admitting members to the Veteran Teacher Association of Vietnam are carried out as follows:

Step 1: Collective and individual members wishing to join the Association must submit a voluntary application.

Step 2: The grassroots-level Executive Committee considers the application and issues a membership card.

Note: Collective members must have a document authorizing the representative according to the provisions of the law. When a member wishes to leave the Association, they must write an application themselves, which must be approved by the grassroots-level Executive Committee, and return their membership card.
