Senior Vocational Education Teacher - Code: V.09.02.05

1. Duties

a) Teaching theory or both theory and practice at the intermediate level; teaching at the primary level; assessing students' learning outcomes and graduation exam results;

b) Leading and organizing professional activities within subjects, faculties, and vocational education institutions; leading science and technology tasks or initiatives for technical improvements at the institutional level and beyond; organizing scientific and technological consultancy activities, technology transfer; writing scientific reports, sharing experiences on vocational education both domestically and internationally;

c) Leading or participating in the compilation or appraisal of programs, textbooks, reference materials for teaching; designing, improving, manufacturing teaching aids and equipment; establishing and managing specialized classrooms;

d) Studying, standardizing training, enhancing training; interning at enterprises or specialized agencies; attending classes, exchanging teaching experiences; training and developing the teacher team according to the professional and career development requirements of subjects, faculties, vocational education institutions;

dd) Guiding internships, internships combined with production work; coaching students for skills competitions at various levels.

What are standards of professional ethics for senior vocational education teachers in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 3 of Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH:

Standards of professional ethics for public employees teaching in public vocational education institutions

1. Dedicated to the profession, upholding the qualities, ethics, honor, reputation, and conscience of teachers; having a spirit of solidarity, sincerity, kindness, and helpfulness towards colleagues; showing generosity, exemplary behavior, responsibility, and affection towards students, learners (hereinafter referred to as learners); protecting the legitimate rights and interests of learners, colleagues, and the community.

2. Diligent in work; adhering to the rules, regulations, and internal guidelines of the vocational education institution and the industry.

3. Responsible in teaching and education, accurately assessing learners' actual abilities; practicing thrift, combating achievement disease, corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.

4. Meeting other standards of professional ethics for public employees in the vocational education sector as stipulated in Clause 4, Article 53 of the Vocational Education Law.

Thus, the standards of professional ethics for senior vocational education teachers are:

- Dedicated to the profession, upholding the qualities, ethics, honor, reputation, and conscience of teachers; having a spirit of solidarity, sincerity, kindness, and helpfulness towards colleagues; showing generosity, exemplary behavior, responsibility, and affection towards learners, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of learners, colleagues, and the community.

- Meeting other standards of professional ethics for public employees in the vocational education sector as stipulated in Clause 4, Article 53 of the Vocational Education Law 2014 including:

+ Having good qualities and ethics;

+ Meeting the standard education and training requirements for professional and operational qualifications;

+ Being in good health as required by the profession;

+ Having clear personal records.

What are the requirements for training levels for senior vocational education teachers in Vietnam?

In Clause 2, Article 9 of Circular 07/2023/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that senior vocational education teachers must meet 02 standards for training and qualifications as follows:

- Theoretical teachers must have a doctoral degree; teachers who teach both theory and practice must have a master's degree or higher and possess degrees, certificates, or certifications meeting the standards of vocational skills required to teach practice at the intermediate level according to the prescribed professional and operational standards of vocational education teachers;

- Possessing degrees, certificates meeting the standards of pedagogical proficiency according to the prescribed professional and operational standards of vocational education teachers.
