Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Directive 1737/CT-BGDDT on strengthening management and enhancing teachers' ethics.
To rectify the situation of teachers violating ethical standards, affecting the credibility and image of educators, and causing distress in the sector and public opinion, the Ministry requires:
Teacher training institutions:
- Innovate the content, program, and training methods; the requirements for knowledge and pedagogical skills must go hand in hand with professional qualifications and characteristics;- Strengthen extracurricular activities, and pedagogical internships to hone pedagogical skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and foster ethical values for pedagogy students.
Educational institutions:
- Build a grassroots democratic regulation in schools;- For teachers who violate standards, depending on each case, implement solutions such as: Temporarily suspend teaching, assign different tasks, or consider including them in the streamlining of the workforce, terminate the working contract, or labor contract.
