Vietnam: Standards of inspectors for occupational safety inspection

Specifically, Circular No. 09/2017/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam stipulates that inspectors shall satisfy standards specified by law.  Inspectors shall be divided into different groups of qualifications as follows:

Group A

A bachelor’s degree in either thermal engineering, mechanical engineering or mechanical and electrical engineering or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design, manufacture, installment, repair, operation or maintenance of power plant boilers.

Group B and group C

A bachelor’s degree in either thermal engineering, mechanical engineer or mechanical and electrical engineering or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design, manufacture, installment, repair, operation or maintenance of group B or C equipment.

Group D

A bachelor’s degree in either thermal engineering, mechanical engineering or mechanical and electrical engineering or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design or manufacture of group D equipment.

Group E

A bachelor’s degree in either mechanical engineering or mechanical and electrical engineering or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design, manufacture, installment, repair, operation or maintenance of group E equipment.

Group G

A bachelor’s degree in either mechanical engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, construction machinery or automation or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design, manufacture, installment, repair, operation or maintenance of group G equipment.

Group H

A bachelor’s degree in either electrical engineering, automation, mechanical engineering or mechanical and electrical engineering or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design, manufacture, installment, repair, operation or maintenance of group H equipment.

Group I

A bachelor’s degree in either electrical engineering, automation or mechanical and electrical engineering or another equivalent degree with at least 2-year experience of inspection, design or manufacture of group I equipment.
