Vietnam’s regulations on collection, transfer, management and use of fees in medical sector

On November 14, 2016, the Minister of Vietnam issued Circular No. 278/2016/TT-BTC providing for fees in medical sector, and the collection, transfer and management thereof.

Circular No. 278/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam annuls certain following fees in medical sector, specifically as follows:

- Fees for issuance of license to import medical equipment (replaced with fees for processing applications for license to import medical equipment: VND 2,000/application);

- Fee for issuance of license for unregistered drugs;

- Fee for issuance of Certificate of Free Sale (CFS)/Certificate of Pharmaceutical Product (CPP) for pharmaceutical products exported, and domestically manufactured medical devices that have already obtained a circulation license.

- Fee for issuance of certificate of free circulation for cosmetics.

- Fee for issuance or reissuance of the medical practice certificate.

- Fee for issuance or reissuance of the license for operation of healthcare facilities.

Circular No. 278/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2017.
