Recently, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) issued Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum amount of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in fields such as materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical technologies.

According to the regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements for graduates of the intermediate and college levels in the garment technology industry, issued in conjunction with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the garment technology industry at the college level is designed to meet the clothing needs of people with diverse products. These products are achieved through processes like research, design, production, cutting, sewing, finishing, etc., via an industrial-scale production management system. It ensures the technical standards of the products and meets the level 5 requirements of the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

Individuals in the Garment Technology industry can directly take on roles within enterprises from sample design, technical documentation construction, sample sewing, production implementation, and participate in or oversee chain sewing stages. They can also perform comprehensive quality checks to ensure the technical standards of the products. The main duties of the industry include: product sample design and the organization of production deployment ensuring product standards.

The Garment Technology industry operates in a professional environment with modern machinery and equipment such as electronic sewing machines, industrial fusing machines, advanced ironing equipment, design software, pattern grading, automated marker making... meeting quality standards and stringent market requirements.

The minimum knowledge volume is 2,475 hours (equivalent to 82 credits).
