Requirements for Skills after Graduation from College Major in Pulp and Paper Manufacturing

On December 28, 2018, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH was issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH), stipulating the minimum knowledge and competency requirements that students must achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical technologies.

As stipulated in the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in Pulp and Paper Technology, issued along with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the following are the minimum skills learners must achieve after graduating in Pulp and Paper Technology at the college level:

- Utilize safety labor protection equipment, first aid equipment for victims, fire and explosion prevention equipment, and hazardous chemicals in the workplace;

- Prevent and detect abnormal phenomena relating to electricity, chemicals, equipment, machinery, and vehicles. Handle labor safety situations when abnormalities occur;

- Calculate machine running processes according to the given technical parameters in production;

- Skillfully operate equipment: Labor safety equipment, equipment in chemical and chemithermomechanical pulp production lines, paper machines, paper coating machines, finishing department equipment, paper recycling equipment, waste treatment equipment;

- Coordinate closely with other departments in the production line to ensure stable, continuous, and high productivity and quality;

- Detect and handle simple incidents that commonly occur in individual equipment and stages of the pulp and paper production technology line;

- Check and evaluate some basic raw materials, chemicals, and product quality during the pulp and paper production process;

- Operate equipment in wastewater, solid waste, gaseous waste, and hazardous waste treatment systems ensuring the safety of both personnel and equipment;

- Manage, check, and supervise teams and groups in executing tasks;

- Implement industrial hygiene measures and labor safety;

- Communicate effectively through writing, presentations, discussions, negotiations, and managing situations;

- Train, mentor, and guide professional skills for lower-level workers;

- Develop plans, organize, and participate in management during production;

- Properly hand over shifts according to procedures, accurately record samples and forms;

- Apply 5S knowledge in performing specific tasks;

- Utilize basic information technology as required; exploit, process, and apply information technology in the professional tasks of the industry;

- Use basic foreign languages at level 2/6 in Vietnam’s foreign language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages in professional tasks of the industry.
