Regulation on the development and updating of meteorological and hydrological data (illustration)
Circular 07/2016/TT-BTNMT stipulates the development and updating of the national meteorological and hydrological database as follows:
- The national meteorological and hydrological database is developed uniformly and synchronously based on the collection, creation, and integration of information and data from observation results, investigations, and surveys from the national meteorological and hydrological station network, specialized meteorological and hydrological stations nationwide, and other sources of meteorological and hydrological information and data as specified in Article 3 of this Circular.
- The national meteorological and hydrological database is connected and shares data with other national databases and the databases of relevant ministries, sectors, and localities related to meteorological and hydrological activities.
- Data before being updated into the database must be checked, quality assessed, and processed in accordance with regulations. Depending on the type of data, form, characteristics, and nature of the data, the level of processing, and the degree of dissemination of data, it must be updated into the database ensuring rationality, scientific accuracy, and meeting the requirements for data security and safety.
- The National Hydrometeorological Center assists the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in building the national meteorological and hydrological database and is responsible for:- Collecting and unifying all meteorological and hydrological information and data from agencies and organizations under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant ministries, sectors, and localities nationwide;- Organizing the updating and management of meteorological and hydrological information and data.
