Principles for Allocating FM Radio Frequency Channels

Circular 37/2017/TT-BTTTT was issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications on December 07, 2017, specifying the principles for the allocation of FM radio frequency channels.

Accordingly, the principles for frequency channel allocation regulated by Circular 37 include:

- Considering the current usage status in Vietnam to ensure the transition from the current status to the planning stage with the lowest cost.- Reasonably and efficiently allocating frequency channels to meet the coverage requirements for FM radio broadcasting of program channels of the Voice of Vietnam, the program channels of provincial and municipal Radio and Television Stations; minimizing overlapping coverage between FM radio stations broadcasting the same program channels of the Voice of Vietnam.

Additionally, Circular 37 also stipulates the channel division and FM radio broadcasting frequency channel allocation as follows:

- Frequency channel division for FM broadcasting is stipulated in Appendix I issued along with Circular 71.- Specific frequency channel allocation for broadcasting program channels of the Voice of Vietnam and provincial and municipal Radio and Television Stations is stipulated in Appendices II and III issued along with Circular 71.
