Method for Determining Connection Points to the Transmission Grid

In 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Circular 25/2016/TT-BCT stipulating the transmission power system.

The connection point is the point where the equipment, electrical grid, and power plant of the Customer utilizing the transmission grid are connected to the transmission system. The determination of the connection point depends on the structure of the grid and the connection line. To be specific:

- For overhead lines, the connection point is the end point of the suspension insulator chain connecting the outgoing conductors to the isolating switch of the substation or the distribution yard of the power plant;- For underground cables, the connection point is the terminal of the insulator pillar isolating the outgoing conductors from the substation or the distribution yard of the power plant.

Note: In cases where the connection point differs from the above regulations, the substitute connection point shall be mutually agreed upon by both parties.

According to Circular 25/2016/TT-BCT, the connection point is the property boundary between the Transmission Unit and the Customer utilizing the transmission grid.

See the related regulations in Circular 25/2016/TT-BCT effective from February 16, 2017.
