Effective from February 10, 2019, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs governs the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in fields of materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical engineering disciplines.

In the Regulation on the minimum amount of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation for the intermediate level, college level in the Thermal Engineering Technology sector, issued together with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that Thermal Engineering Technology at the college level is a field that includes tasks such as installation, operation, maintenance, repair of thermal equipment according to technical requirements and design, ensuring safety standards, and meeting the Level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
Individuals with a college degree in Thermal Engineering Technology often assume positions related to installation, maintenance, operation, repair; sales consulting, technical consulting... in fields such as: Domestic and commercial refrigeration, industrial refrigeration, air conditioning, drying, boilers, and related industries. Additionally, graduates can also take on roles such as managing technical facilities, manufacturing and trading specialized equipment and materials.
The primary tasks of this field are mainly performed in non-fixed work environments, frequent traveling, working at construction sites, places generating dust, noise, fluctuating temperatures; places with low lighting, working at heights... Therefore, to practice the profession, workers must have good health, strong work ethics, adequate professional knowledge, and occupational skills appropriate for the job position.
Please note the minimum amount of knowledge is 2,430 hours (equivalent to 80 credits).
