On February 10, 2019, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs was issued, stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in fields of materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical engineering technologies.

According to the regulations on the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level and college level in the traffic engineering technology major, issued together with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate level traffic engineering technology major involves the construction, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of bridge and road projects in mountainous areas, plains, industrial zones, etc., meeting the level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
Individuals working in the Traffic Engineering Technology field often perform tasks such as project surveying, road design, bridge design, drainage system design, road construction, bridge construction, drainage system construction, construction of other auxiliary items, and completion of bridge and road construction works.
To perform these tasks, workers need to have specialized knowledge and practical abilities in the field of bridge and road construction; the ability to work independently with professional ethics, organizational discipline, industrial manner; and adequate health to work in companies, factories, enterprises domestically and regionally.
This profession requires workers to know how to operate, arrange, and organize machinery and equipment such as pile drivers, drilling equipment, surveying tools, bridge girder erection equipment, roadbed construction machines, road surface machines, etc. Only then can they apply construction methods from simple to complex, and adopt new techniques and technologies in bridge and road construction.
Minimum amount of knowledge: 1,400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).
