Frequency Channel Planning for the Voice of Vietnam Radio

On December 07, 2017, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 37/2017/TT-BTTTT to specifically regulate the frequency channel planning for the Voice of Vietnam.

According to Circular 37, the planning of frequency channels for FM broadcast stations of the Voice of Vietnam is regulated as follows:

- In the case where the Voice of Vietnam changes the frequency channel of an active transmitter or invests in a new transmitter to broadcast on an allocated frequency channel as per this Circular, and it causes harmful interference to licensed provincial-level, central city-level, or district-level FM broadcast stations, the Voice of Vietnam is responsible for supporting the affected stations in changing their frequency.

- In the case where a provincial-level or central city-level FM broadcast station changes its active frequency channel according to the planning to a reserved frequency channel (to facilitate the implementation of the planning by the Voice of Vietnam) and it causes harmful interference to licensed district-level FM broadcast stations, the Voice of Vietnam is responsible for supporting the affected stations in changing their frequency.

- FM broadcast stations of the Voice of Vietnam operating on a frequency channel not conforming to the planning must switch to the planned frequency channel when the change does not cause harmful interference to active provincial-level or district-level FM broadcast stations.

For more details, see Circular 37/2017/TT-BTTTT effective from January 23, 2018.
