The story "Văn hay chữ tốt" is about a person who excels not only in beautiful handwriting but also in literature, and that person is Cao Ba Quat. Reading this story, I admire and respect this talented character even more. Cao Ba Quat did not have the gift of beautiful handwriting from birth. Initially, he was famous for his exceptional literature skills, but his handwriting was notably poor. Because his writing was so bad, he was often scored low by his teacher due to its illegibility. Once, he was asked to write a petition to the court for an old poor woman, but because of the poor handwriting, the court could not read it and chased the woman away. From that moment, Cao Ba Quat was determined to practice writing beautifully. He diligently practiced day after day without laziness. Additionally, he devised various writing exercises to improve his handwriting. Thanks to that, Cao Ba Quat's handwriting became increasingly beautiful, even more so than model scripts. This is a well-deserved outcome for his efforts. Therefore, I immensely admire and respect this talented figure. |

General Vo Nguyen Giap is considered a military genius of the 20th century. Born into a family with a tradition of learning, he excelled academically from a young age. Embracing patriotism, he participated in rallies and demonstrations against French colonialists from an early age. After several years in the revolutionary, he established the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, officially leading the military. Drawing on his experience and knowledge, our nation's great general commanded and won many significant battles, securing independence for the nation. Ducan Townson, the author of "The Great Generals" published in London, wrote: "Vo Nguyen Giap is one of the 21 world-renowned generals of the past 25 centuries, from the era of Alexander the Great to Hannibal and modern times with Kutudov, Zhukov..., those who turned the tide of war." The story goes that: Long ago in China, there was a man named Wang Xi Zhi known for his beautiful handwriting. One day, he was resting under a tree by the roadside. Coincidentally, an old lady selling fans also stopped to rest under that tree. She confided to him that she hadn't sold a single fan all day and faced the prospect of her family going hungry that evening. After speaking, she was so tired that she fell asleep. While she slept, Wang Xi Zhi took out his brush and ink, and wrote poetry on all her fans. When she woke up, she found her white fans were covered with Wang's writings. Angry, she demanded compensation from him. Wang Xi Zhi said nothing, only smiled and quietly left. Little did she know, her fans were sold rapidly, with some fetching prices as high as a thousand gold pieces. The old lady regretted having no more to sell. On her way back, she thought to herself that perhaps the heavens had sent an angel to help her sell the fans so quickly. |
