2. Comprehensive, periodic commendations for individuals and student class collectives are conducted at the end of the academic year or course. Specifically:

a) For individuals:

- Individual titles include 3 categories: Good, Very Good, Excellent.

- Classification standards:

+ Achieve the title of Good Student: academic and conduct ratings of Good or higher;

+ Achieve the title of Very Good Student: academic rating of Very Good or higher and conduct rating of Good or higher;

+ Achieve the title of Excellent Student: academic results of 3.6 (on a 4-point scale) or 9.0 (on a 10-point scale) or higher and an Excellent conduct rating.

- Individual titles are recorded in the student's management file.

- Students who have been disciplined or have achieved subject completion scores below average in the academic year are not eligible for commendation.

b) For student class collectives:

- Class titles include 2 categories: Advanced Student Class and Excellent Student Class.

- The head of the higher education institution stipulates specific standards for the titles of Advanced Student Class and Excellent Student Class.

Therefore, the condition to achieve the title of Excellent Student is that the student must have academic results of 3.6 (on a 4-point scale) or 9.0 (on a 10-point scale) or higher and an Excellent conduct rating.

What are the duties of regular university students when attending university in Vietnam?

Based on Article 4 of the Regulations on Student Affairs for regular university training programs issued with Circular 10/2016/TT-BGDDT, the duties of regular university students when attending university include:

- Comply with the policies and directions of the Communist Party, laws of the State, university charters, and the regulations and rules of the higher education institution.

- Study and train according to the education and training programs and plans of the higher education institution; proactively and positively self-study, research, create, and train ethics and lifestyle.

- Respect teachers, management staff, public employees, and staff of the higher education institution; unite and help each other in the process of learning and training; effectively implement a cultured lifestyle in the university.

- Protect and preserve property; act to contribute to protecting, building, and promoting the traditions of the higher education institution.

- Fully comply with regulations on initial and periodic health examinations during the study period as mandated by the higher education institution.

- Pay tuition fees, health insurance, fully and on time.

- Participate in public labor, volunteer activities, and social activities for the community in accordance with their capabilities and health as required by the higher education institution.

- Fulfill obligations to work for a set period as mandated by the State when receiving scholarships or training costs paid by the State or funded by foreign sources as per agreements signed with the State. If not complied with, repayment of scholarships and training costs will be according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.

- Participate in preventing negative, fraudulent activities in learning, exams, and other student activities; promptly report to the faculty, functional departments, the head of the higher education institution, or competent authorities when detecting negative, fraudulent acts in learning, exams, or legal violations, other rule violations by students, staff, and teachers in the higher education institution.

- Participate in ensuring security, order, traffic safety, crime prevention, and social evils prevention in universities, family, and community.

- Perform other related duties as per the law and regulations of the higher education institution.
