What does the Covid-19 home treatment medicine for children include?
According to the provisions in Appendix 3 issued together with Official Dispatch 8728/SYT-NVY dated November 23, 2021 on instructions for treatment and home treatment medicine for Covid-19 for children over 1 year old as follows:
(1) Guidelines for treating children with mild COVID-19 at home
- Stay in a private room.
- Apply standard precautions, wear a mask for children ≥ 2 years old.
Symptomatic treatment:
+ Antipyretic when the temperature is ≥ 38.5° C: Paracetamol dose 10-15mg/kg/time every 6 hours.
+ Cough medicine: Give preference to herbal cough medicine.
- Drink a lot of water.
- Ensure nutrition: breast-feeding, eating well.
- Hygiene of the body, teeth, nose and throat.
- Exercise in place and practice breathing for at least 15 minutes/day (older children).
- Follow:
+ Measure body temperature at least twice a day or when the child feels feverish.
+ Measure SpO2 (if there is a device) at least 2 times / day or when the child feels tired, fast breathing / shortness of breath.
- Daily medical declaration through the application "Ho Chi Minh Health" or through the self-monitoring form, notify the medical staff when there are warning signs.
(2) Instructions to use the children's medicine to treat COVID-19 at home (for 07 days):
