Currently, F0 can take care of and monitor their health at home if they satisfy fully conditions. What are the notable contents for F0 self-caring at home when taking care and monitoring health?

What cases are F0 isolated at home in Vietnam?

According to the instructions in Section 1, Appendix 1 attached with Official Dispatch 8728/SYT-NVY dated November 23, 2021, the following F0 cases are allowed to be isolated at home, specifically:

"1. Subjects managed at home

a) The person with COVID-19 (F0) is the person who has the RT-PCR test or SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen test results is positive, eligible for home isolation

b) Conditions for home isolation:

- Have 02 clinical criteria:

(1) Have no symptoms or mild clinical symptoms (no respiratory failure: SpO2 ≥ 96% when breathing air, respiratory rate ≤ 20 breaths/min)

(2) Age from 1 to 50 years old, have no underlying disease , no pregnant, no obese. For the cases that do not meet this condition, they can still consider home isolation if they have stable underlying diseases, ensuring to get 2 shots or 14 days after administering the first COVID-19 vaccine

- Self-care ability: F0 individuals can take care of themselves (such as eating, bathing, washing clothes, cleaning...); know how to measure body heat; have ability to self-medicate according to doctor's prescription; have ability to communicate with medical staff to be monitored, monitored and when there is an emergency. In case F0 is a child or a person who cannot take care of themselves, a caregiver is required.

- Have no people in the family at risk (elderly, have underlying diseases, obese, pregnant...."

What support will F0 self-caring at home receive from the Covid-19 Patient Management Facility in Vietnam?

According to the instructions in Section 2 of Appendix 1 issued together with Official Dispatch 8728/SYT-NVY dated November 23, 2021, F0 self-caring at home will be supported by the Covid-19 Patient Management Facility as follows:

"2. Health care activities for home-based F0 individuals

Activity 2. Instruct F0 to take care of and monitor their health at home

Within 24 hours of receiving the F0 list, the Covid-19 Patient Management Facility must approach F0 or the F0 family to assess home isolation conditions. In case F0 is eligible for home isolation, hand out leaflets on what to follow; self-care and self-monitor health at home; dispense drugs to treat COVID-19 according to regulations (immediately issue package A if F0 has no symptoms; immediately issue package A-C if F0 has mild symptoms), specifically as follows:

1. Prepare necessary items when isolated at home, including: Thermometer, SpO2 measuring device, blood pressure monitor (if any); medical masks; means of hand hygiene; physiological saline solution to gargle, rinse the nose; personal item; Infectious waste containers with lids.

2. Prepare home treatment drugs, including: Home remedies for COVID-19 provided by Covid-19 Patient Management Facility at home; medicines being treated for underlying diseases (hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, bronchial asthma...) are enough to be used for 1 month."

What should F0 self-caring at home do?

According to the instructions in Section 2 of Appendix 1 issued together with Official Dispatch 8728/SYT-NVY dated November 23, 2021, F0 self-caring at home needs to do the following things:

"2. Health care activities for home-based F0 individuals

3. While isolating at home, F0 must conduct the below contents:

a) Don't be pessimistic, keep your mind at ease. In case of difficulty, you contact medical staff for remote consultation.

b) Self-monitor health: Measure body temperature, count breathing rate, measure SpO2 (if measured) at least twice a day, or when feeling tired or short of breath.

c) Wear a mask continuously, wash your hands or disinfect your hands often.

d) Wash the nose, gargle daily with physiological saline.

e) Regularly practice breathing and exercise to improve health.

f) Drink enough water or more if there is fever, diarrhea. Do not skip meals, increase nutrition, eat enough nutrients, increase fresh fruits and vegetables.

g) Make a medical declaration at least once a day or when there are abnormal symptoms through the application “Ho Chi Minh City” or through the self-monitoring form.

h) The isolated place must be well ventilated, not using central air conditioning; Regularly clean surfaces, utensils and toilets.

i) Regular hand sanitizer; disinfecting objects and contact surfaces such as countertops, doorknobs, toilets, lavabo... Sorting waste according to regulations.

j) Have a phone number of the medical staff of Patient Management Facility at home to contact when you need advice and support; switchboard “1022” or Quick Response Team of wards, communes, towns, districts.”

What symptoms should F0 self-caring at home report to the Covid-19 Patient Management Facility when derecting?

According to the instructions in Section 2 of Appendix 1 issued together with Official Dispatch 8728/SYT-NVY dated November 23, 2021, F0 self-caring at home when having the following symptoms, you must immediately report to the Covid-19 Patient Management Facility:

"2. Health care activities for home-based F0 individuals

5. Symptoms that need to be reported immediately to the COVID-19 Home Management Facility

F0 or caregiver immediately notify the Facility that is managing a person with COVID-19 at home if person F0 has ONE of the following signs:

a) Shortness of breath, shortness of breath, or in children with signs of abnormal breathing: groaning, chest indrawing, rising and falling of the nostrils, wheezing, wheezing, then inhale.

b) Increased breathing rate: ≥ 21 breaths/minute for adults; ≥ 40 times/minute for children from 01 to under 05 years old; ≥ 30 times/minute for children from 05 to under 12 years old.

c) Peripheral blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) < 96% (if measured).

d) Tachycardia > 120 beats/min or less than 50 beats/min.

e) Low blood pressure: systolic blood pressure < 90 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure < 60 mmHg (if measured).

f) Frequent chest pain, feeling of tightness in the chest, pain increasing when taking a deep breath.

g) Changes in consciousness: Confusion, narcolepsy, lethargy, very tired/tired, fussy child, lethargy difficult to wake, convulsions.

h) Purple lips, purple tips of fingernails, toenails, blue skin, pale lips, cold fingertips and toes.

i) Cannot drink.

j) The child has the following symptoms: Fever over 38°C, sore throat, cough, diarrhea, child fatigue, refuses to play, chest tightness, feeling short of breath, SpO2 < 96% (if measured), eating/feeding poor..."
