Mosquitoes are also known as noble mosquitoes because they lay their eggs in clean, still water. Any place where water stands for a long time is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. These standing water objects can be right in the house we are living in because we don't pay attention, such as water pots left on the terrace, standing gutters, cups of offering water, flowerpots... or in places where there is dirt. empty around the house, where there is a lot of garbage, there are bottles, water glasses, plastic bags, car tires...

In addition, the content issued together with Official Dispatch 1947/SGDĐT-CTTT 2022 of the Ho Chi Minh City SGDDT also guides the measures each individual and family should take to prevent dengue fever as follows:

(1) Spend 10 - 15 minutes per week to clean up the place you work, live, from inside to around the house, clean up, don't leave any container with standing water to create litter.

(2) Turn over old unused buckets, jars and bottles.

(3) Clean and change water in flower vases, water bowls at least once a week, clean eaves, roofs, gutters,...

(4) Seal the jars, pools and drums containing water when not in use to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs and generating larvae and mosquitoes.

(5) For places where water is not used for drinking, activities can release fish to kill larvae.

(6) Use sprays, incense, mosquito repellant creams, wear long-sleeved clothes, sleep under a mosquito net even during the day to avoid mosquito bites.

The above are the guidelines of the Ho Chi Minh City Education and Training Department on communication to strengthen the prevention of dengue fever.
