Pursuant to Official Letter 3181/BYT-DP in 2022 of the Ministry of Health, guiding the administration of booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 12 to 17 years old with the following contents:
"first. Departments of Health of provinces, cities and units:
a) Continue expeditiously deploying the 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine for people aged 18 years and over, ensuring its completion in the second quarter of 2022 under the direction of the Government.
b) Accelerate the progress of vaccination against COVID-19 for children from 5 to under 12 years old, ensure safety and effectiveness, and complete the vaccination for eligible children in the second quarter of 2022 under the direction of the Ministry of Health. Government.
c) Give the child a booster dose (3rd dose) of COVID-19 vaccine:
- Subjects of injection: Children from 12 years old to 17 years old have had enough basic dose
- Vaccines used: Pfizer's vaccine has been approved by the Ministry of Health for use in this age group.
- Dosage: 0.3 ml dose is similar to the basic dose of people aged 12 years and older
- Gap: At least 5 months after the last dose of the basic dose

3. Implementation organization:
- The Department of Health advises the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to decide on the subjects of vaccination in accordance with the actual situation and requirements for epidemic prevention and control in the locality, to develop a plan and prepare the necessary conditions for the implementation of the vaccine. Declaring the 3rd injection for children from 12 years old to 17 years old.

- Create all favorable conditions, speed up production, technology transfer, processing and domestic production of vaccines as soon as possible.
- Implement the application of the national population database to update information on people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, monitor the coverage of COVID-19 vaccines and serve the distribution of vaccines.
